ASE XXXII PLANETARY CONGRESS COMMUNITY DAY - WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 16, 2019

“IT SUDDENLY STRUCK ME THAT THAT TINY PEA, PRETTY AND BLUE, WAS THE EARTH. I PUT UP MY THUMB AND SHUT ONE EYE, AND MY THUMB BLOTTED OUT THE PLANET EARTH. I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE A GIANT. I FELT VERY, VERY SMALL.” ― NEIL ARMSTRONG

An important part of every ASE Planetary Congress — consistent with our Vision and Mission is to educate the public and to inspire future explorers, scientists, engineers and civic leaders — is COMMUNITY DAY.  No formal programming is conducted on this day: instead all of the delegates devote the their time to visiting schools, universities, community groups and companies.

During these visits they share their knowledge, experiences and passion for space exploration. The goal – to engage and inspire the next generation of scientists, astronauts and engineers to pursue STEM studies.

Each delegate typically appears at up to five events arranged by the sponsoring schools or communities.
